内容简介：Newton, the flagship physics journal from Cell Press, launched in 2024 as the latest addition to the publisher's expanding physical science portfolio. The journal seeks to publish transformative research across the full breadth of physics—from fundamental theory to applied and interdisciplinary fields, including condensed matter physics, optics and photonics, quantum science, biophysics, soft matter, and AI-X. In this talk, I will discuss Newton's editorial vision, its commitment to rigorous peer review and author service, and offer practical insights into navigating the publishing process at Cell Press.

黄炳钧 (Johnny Wong)，Newton资深科学编辑。先后获香港理工大学应用物理学士、英国约克大学电子学博士，曾任欧盟玛丽居里学者，在荷兰特温特大学和新加坡国立大学研究纳米自旋电子学和二维材料。2024年加入Cell Press担任Newton创刊资深编辑，负责处理凝聚态物理领域的稿件。此前为西北工业大学正教授、国家级学位与科研项目评审专家，发表学术论文80余篇。

Newton是Cell Press细胞出版社旗下的旗舰物理期刊，与知名期刊Chem、Joule、Matter和Device等共同构成高水平物质科学系列。Newton创刊号于2024年3月正式发布！创刊号涵盖的研究广度充分体现了编辑团队构建跨学科认知共同体的愿景——从生物物理机制解析、软物质体系构建，到量子信息处理突破、光学系统优化，再到拓扑材料设计、磁性材料革新及超导机理探索，多元主题在此交相辉映。稿源分布同样彰显国际化特色：中国学者贡献率达40%，北美与欧洲分别占比25%和20%，更有来自12个国家/地区的创新力量共同参与期刊建设。
